Jayne Webley - bio
I have always loved drawing and painting, but my venture into clay started in 2012 when I joined a life sculpture class at my local Pottery, and since then, I have had an obsession with all things clay! I belong to a number of local art and am a director at my Pottery. I have shown my work in various exhibitions in the UK and Greece and have ammonites displayed in permanent installations locally.
The inspiration for my work comes from the shapes, colours and forms of nature and the sea. My passion is for sculpture where I find the biggest challenges in my interpretations of natural forms with a special love of curves and spirals. I enjoy all types of clay and all the different processes such as pit firing, raku firing and experimenting with different glazes and textures in my beloved kiln. I really love the unexpected results you can achieve – good and bad!
